Participate

Participating in CNC YYC is Easy and Free!

  1. Create a free iNaturalist account before April 30.
  2. April 30-May 3 is the time to get outside and explore. Make as many observations as you can of wild flora and fauna in your yards, neighborhoods, and local parks.
  3. Observations can only be made in Calgary, Okotoks, Airdrie, Chestermere, and Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park!
  4. Upload your observations to iNaturalist.ca or the app before May 9. People with knowledge of plants and animals can also help to make IDs for others posting in our area (even if outside the CNC YYC boundaries).
  5. May 10, 2021 the Canadian and Global results will be announced!
Cities around the world will compete to see which can:
  1. Make the Most Number of Observations
  2. Document the Most Number of Species
  3. Engage the Most People
