CNC YYC Urban Habitats: Plants of Confluence Park

Join us at confluence park to catalog the diverse flora and fauna that reside along the riparian and upland grasslands of West Nose Creek and and Nose Creek. Karel Bergmann will lead a botanical tour of rare plants along the valley with other groups exploring for birds, mammals, butterflies, and insects. During this walk we will also discuss the historic and social components of the area and illustrate the importance for conservation and collaborative management in the Nose Creek Watershed.
Target Species: Plants, Insects, Meadowlarks, Raptors, Coyotes, Snakes
What to Bring:
- Have iNaturalist downloaded and an account created on your smartphone or tablet. You can also create an account online at www.inaturalist.ca Especially if you prefer to use a camera.
- Camera, smartphone, or tablet to take photos and make observations.
- Water and a snack
- Weather appropriate clothing and shoes (no indoor facilities provided. Bathroom available at parking lot).
Directions and Meeting Place: Located W of Deerfoot Tr, E of the Airport. Go N on Deerfoot Trail. After 64th Av, exit onto Beddington Tr. It crosses over Deerfoot Tr. At 1st light, at Beddington Blvd, turn right into parking lot. Meet at the entrance of the park.
