City Nature Challenge Urban Habitats: Carburn Park

FreeCarburn Park showcases a wide variety of urban riparian habitat along the Bow River. It is notorious for great birding and wildlife experiences and will surely be an excellent City Nature Challenge outing. Expect to see plenty of waterfowl, plants, mammals, butterflies, and maybe even some amphibians! Keep an eye out for pelicans and osprey as they are known to make an appearance around this time of year.
What to Bring:
- Have iNaturalist downloaded and an account created on your smartphone or tablet. You can also create an account online at www.inaturalist.ca Especially if you prefer to use a camera.
- Camera, smartphone, or tablet to take photos and make observations.
- Binoculars
- Water and a snack
- Weather appropriate clothing and shoes (no indoor facilities provided. Bathroom available at parking lot).
Directions: On 18 St SE, S from Glenmore Tr SE, turn right at 2nd stoplight; ignoring cul de sacs, then left at 2nd intersection. We will meet at the entrance to the park near the bathrooms.
