CNC YYC Urban Habitats: Birds of Elliston Park

Who would of thought that the wetland right beside the landfill would host so many great birds? Explore this incredible birding location and look for Ducks, Avocets, Stilts, Gulls, and Herons. Of course, we encourage you to document everything you can during the City Nature Challenge so keep an eye out for muskrats, coyote, wetland plants, and insects.

Directions: E of Elliston Park. Meet in first parking lot on W, S of 17 Av SE & 68 St SE

Target Species: Ducks, Avocets, Stilts, Gulls

Things to Bring:
-Have iNaturalist downloaded and an account created on your smartphone or tablet. You can also create an account online at www.inaturalist.ca Especially if you prefer to use a camera.
-Camera, smartphone, or tablet to take photos and make observations.You’ll want your long lens, binoculars, and even a scope if you have one to share with others!
-Water and a snack
-Weather appropriate clothing and shoes
